We are always looking for new members either on sax but also in our rhythm section
Current band members are aged 13 to 17,  however, we will audition younger or older players. Many of the 'soundbytes'  improvise on blues scales or over chord changes, and they are good readers of about grade four/five or above. Mostly, they are an awesome team of enthusiastic performers who love making great music together.
 
Our music is all ‘ written ‘ except for occasional solo passages over chords. All our music is 'jazzy' in its broadest sense, - latin, swing, funk, reggae, soul......  we are a unique group with our own specially commissioned music, there is nothing quite like us out there, so if you are up for it, maybe it's a case of 'suck it and see'...
 
We run a scholarship scheme to help train existing woodwind ( clarinet, oboe, flute ) players into sax players.  We have loan instruments and can help with lessons with pro jazz teachers.
 
Rehearsals are weekly in Harrogate on Wednesday evenings, and we perform live regularly... just look at our diary for the amazing list of forthcoming gigs. So if you want to be a soundbyte, either as a sax player or in the rhythm section, don't be shy, - have a try. We look forward to hearing from you.
